New member, first time poster, long time lurker. Great to be here.

Is anyone going for Masters in U of R in January? Have you received admission decision yet? Especially for MSc Computer Science (course/thesis/project).

I am applying from South Africa:

16+ years as Software Developer/Architect ;
BSc Computer Science (Hons) 2004 with GPA 3.49/4.0 (WES evaluation);
MBA 2016.

I applied in April for Fall, but I deferred to Winter 2021 because I was having trouble getting my official transcripts.They initially deferred my application to Spring 2021 because my official docs were only received this August. But I reminded them that my WES ICAP course-by-course was actually submitted to them since May, and it seems they moved my application back to Winter 2021 for evaluation (all my documents now show as received).

What is your application status on the portal? Mine previously said "Too late for deadline" but after I emailed them about my WES that was sent a while ago, my status updated on Monday and now says "Hold File for Next Dept Intake".

Thanks! I wonder why it's taking them so long. I am also waiting for Memorial and U of Winnipeg. I have received an offer from Concordia for this Fall, but I don't want to study online and Concordia can only defer to next Fall..

So i emailed the SGS Graduate Chair at MUN to inquire about my application (status still stuck on "Application Processing Has Begun" on the portal). She replied today informing me that my application is under review, confirmed the receipt of my documents and said to expect admission decision latest by October 1st.

I guess the wait continues .

It's a Master's program. It takes a long time to receive decision. Some programs take up to 5/6 months

If it takes too long then I wont get enough time to apply for Visa process..What will I do then...?

Should have applied earlier. Or you can wait for next year. All universities advise students apply well in advance

I applied as soon as they started accepting the applications for winter 2021..
