Hello everyone, I am a GS applicant, submitted online last January 4th 2014. I have an offer of permanent/full-time job offer from a Manitoba employer and is just waiting for my work visa, SOWP for my wife and TRV for my 5 year old son, and will probably fly to Canada by early August. Will this make a difference to our MPNP application? We are pinoys currently in New Zealand. Thank you.

Just saw it on MB official website that the deadline for intake of PNP applications of overseas skilled workers for the year 2014 is 31st July 2014.
Those who are planning to apply please hurry up.
Hi, we're preparing to submit our application online this coming september but we received an email that they will stop accepting mpnp skilled worker stream until july 31, 2014. Just want to confirm, is general stream is also the skilled worker stream? Thanks

They will stop accepting all Overseas Skilled Worker applications whether Family or General stream after July 31st, meaning all applications from skilled workers outside Canada. But applications from Skilled workers from within Manitoba and Strategic Recruitment Initiative will continue to be accepted all year.
I suggest you submit your application before the said date, rather than wait till 2015. Happy to help.

Just to clarify myself " who can apply under Strategic Initiative category"? Does GS sponsored by friend/distant relative falls under this category, if a person is by profession an engineer.

No. You are eligible to apply to the MPNP through a Strategic Initiative if you:
have received a letter of invitation to apply as part of an MPNP targeted promotional initiative, OR
have made an Exploratory Visit to Manitoba that has been pre-approved by the MPNP.
Those sponsored by family, friend or distant relative living outside Canada regardless of profession falls under the Overseas Skilled Worker Scheme.

1) I am currently a phd student in a Canadian university and planning to apply for mpnp.
2) I do not have any previous work exp.
3) I know a friend who can sponsor me and write the settlement plan.
4) I checked my points that without work ex if I score clb 6 in ielts then I score over 61 points.
5) my ielts test date is on 2 aug.
6) I have a masters degree from USA.
I have manly two questions
1) can I apply for mpnp without any work exp? Eg in general/skilled worker overseas stream?
2) since the application deadline is 31 July, can I apply without ielts score initially and add them later in my application? I can submit the letter that I have the test date on 2 aug and calculate the points while applying based on clb 6 level.
I am waiting for the answers from the seniors on this wonderful forum.
