I was just pointing out that a lot of people automatically rule out BC altogether because they see the prices in one city and forget the others *shrug*

But that isn’t the question. The person was thinking of moving from Montreal to Vancouver and clearly had some major misinformation. Wouldn’t say cost of living is even close between Vancouver vs Montreal. There is certainly traffic coming in from the suburbs to Vancouver, there is very little French speaking community and his business depended on referrals, etc. In general just think OP has done a little research and doesn’t have the right facts and figures about Vancouver.

Okay, again like I said, I was more so responding to the other people saying that BC in general is not doable. I get what you're saying. Of course the two are completely different.
OP has options, I'm also laying out that if OP is okay with a longer drive, you can absolutely afford Vancouver's outlining areas. It just might take some sacrifice of commute time and some luxuries like house size and more limited options depending how close you wish to get. Always a will when there is a way.
Cost of living is certainly lower than Toronto mainly due to housing but the job prospects are also not as great. If you are struggling in Toronto why not apply to jobs across Canada? People shouldn’t limit yourselves to one of 5 cities. What industry do you work in or are you looking for a job in? What kind of training do you have?
