Hi all,
Has anyone moved from the us to Canada recently ? If so what options do we have for moving goods(moving company etc) , is it even possible to move household items now given the situation. BTW, we have a PR.
We moved to Ontario on 5/25 . We used U Pack. And they understand about the 14 day quarantine.

thank you. Was there any paperwork that needs to be provided to them for customs purposes. So for the 14 day quarantine, did they store it for you .?
Yes your goods to follow list and copy of passport. The list you give them must be the same you give or gave Customs.
Hi, did you have any help to unload after your goods showed up. U pack seems to have teamed up with a company to load and unload the cube but they don’t have presence in Canada. Any advice on that front..?

We used super movers in Guelph.
We moved from the U.S. three years ago and had a good experience with
Three Men And A Truck. No major issues to speak of and they were good about helping us navigate some of the paperwork that comes with moving between countries. My advice would be to make sure you find a company that has a lot of experience moving people from the US to Canada since it can be somewhat tricky if you don't have all your ducks in a row. Best of luck!
Can we move stuff ourselves using uhaul truck? If so,will they hold the items for a certain duration or release them on the same day?

Ok. Apply for jobs on Canadian job sites like Indeed. Most jobs will say that you need work authorization so you are not eligible for those. You need a job offer and your employer needs to file for and pay $1k for a LMIA. The LMIA shows that no Canadian or PR could be hired, only you. Then with LMIA, you apply for a closed work permit. For the permit, you show that you are experienced to do the job. Depending on the job requirements, you may need IELTS for language and ECA for education.

Alas although it is easy to apply, not wasy to get hired.
My partner moved from the US to Toronto. He ended up renting a U-Haul and driving it up there. He filled out the good to follow ppw. He crossed at the Peace Bridge...no issues, they didn't even look through the U-Haul.

Yeah, we dropped off U-Haul at one of the branches in Toronto. There were no issues at all.
