Hey,

I've been in canada on a work permit for 6 months and am thinking of getting a pr. My work permit and Visa are valid for another one and half years from now. My question is can I enter the express express entry pool while on a work permit? Can I use the lmia I used to apply for the work permit? Would I get points for the lmia and work permit? I've also looked into provincial nomination but the wait times are 8 months. What are the other options I've got? Any tips and recommendations that you think would be useful would help a lot!

Thanks

Yes - you can enter the Express Entry pool while on a work permit.

It's hard to say if you will get points for the LMIA / work permit without further details. Generally speaking you should.

Your options are Express Entry or the Provincial Nominee Programs if you want to become a PR.
