Me April Thanks Cansha, Been following your thread and comment for a long time and it is such a relief. Maybe I should order one mor set of note today so if the one (which hasn’t come) didnt trigger them then today-ordered-note may? What do you suggest?
I requested Ralph for my application status and received below response. Looks like these Montreal guys have not even started looking in the file in three months so far
I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received July 16, 2018. It is in Montreal.
Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.
Eligibility is in process.
Criminality and security checks have not been initiated. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available.
Medicals are valid until July 2019.

Darn that's not nice. Better for everyone to follow up with the doc to make sure it was sent..did you pay again and redo or they uploaded properly without retest
HI guys, though i will join the journey as i came to know my file is in Montreal as well.
My Time line
June 7 AOR
June 29 medicals passed
July 10 RPRF request and background check started
..............nothing after that

Called CIC on Oct 10, said eligibility recommended passed, criminality on progress and security yet to start.

Welcome to Montreal family. The number for June candidates keeps going up. My theory is there will be a lot of May candidates who are being processed at Montreal as well. But May folks seem to be content in waiting and not finding out their Visa offices.
Interesting to see your criminality was in progress as most of us saw criminality as not started in our notes. Seems like Montreal is moving slowly but steadily. Hope to get PPR in November.

I'm not sure if Montreal has an email id listed and even if they do whether they will reply to emails. But I think as soon as you hit 6 month mark and you don't have PPR by then you should raise a CSE and ask for a status update. Also, you should call the IRCC number and request them for a status. Atleast two people have claimed that when they called CIC after 6 month deadline they received PPR on the same day. The data is not enough to establish a causal relationship between call and PPR but I think it is still worth a shot.
And you're right, there is no way of knowing what is the hold up? Only thing I can think of is that it is possibly a test of patience designed either by Montreal visa folks or God / Universe to prepare us for even tougher battle ahead. Or if we want to give a positive spin on this let's say everyone will take 8 months to settle in Canada. If you get PPR in 2 months you will find a job in other 6 months. Keeping that cycle intact if we get PPR in 6 months we should get jobs quicker

Ha ha, yes its nice to think of it that way. Lets hope we can get jobs sooner Anyways, i just dont want to be in a place where they would request medical again coz it would be another 2000$ for the family.

When were your medicals done? In any case, I have seen a number of cases where CIC extended validity of medicals themselves when PPR was delayed. In any case I don't think you should worry about that. I think you will get your PPR soon. Montreal seems to give PPR by 6 month mark. And given there is no issues in your file you should get it sooner.
