On CBC news just reported that the whole Montreal CIC office went to Bahama's beaches til the end of September. All CIC workers are outraged as it was originally planned to stay on vacation until the end of the year.
Don't take it seriously! He or she is joking I guess...
But, I have red earlier in this thread that the amount of people that attend to ceremonies is close to 300. Thus I guess they are waiting to gather this number of people so they can book a citizenship judge (so expensive for the government, given the fact that canada is a poor country and we did not pay 650$) lol.

I doubt it. Look at my timeline. Four month I'm waiting for invitation that is dealyed for no reason since my case is really simple. There is either a really looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong queue for the oath or some people are not worth enough to get their oath in reasonable time.

It is just a guess. I really ignore how things work inside CIC, and above all what is in their mind!
Let's say that they pick applications on the basis of "random". .
Here we are waiting...

I find it difficult to understand why it should take so long. Surely the tough part comes before then. For my friend in Toronto, it took a few weeks after the exam. There must be something I am missing.
Does anyone know if it is possible to take the oath anywhere? Or we are bound to the place where we live? Because if it means cutting the wait by a few months, I really don't mind going to another city.

I am not sure why you need it so fast? The official time is 12 months and so far most of us have been much faster than those 12 months. In Vancouver they have regularly two tests times per day. When I was there we were about 40, so that would make 80 per day, roughly 400 a week. I can see that it takes time to accommodate all of these people for oath ceremonies.
