My husband has just received the oath invitation!!! The ceremony is on May 6th!!! Finally thank you god!!!!!!!! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting
I had to cut short my work trip and pay out of pocket to come back to Montreal. I became a citizen yesterday at approximately 10:30am... There were 350 people who took the oath!

Congrats on becoming a citizen. I believe you had a rough journey. Must be a relief.
I have always been a bit curious about why Montreal has been so slow. There are 100+ people taking oath at a time and a ceremony happening roughly every week. There are 2 locations in Montreal and 1 in Quebec city. Where is the backlog that is causing Montreal to be slow? Is it still lingering from when the rule changed from 4/6 to 3/5? Or did they lose case workers for a while that caused the backlog? Just can't figure it out. All of us can just make guesses I suppose.
Frustrating to put your life on hold waiting for oath ceremony. Summer is coming and you can go nowhere as Montreal gives just 2 weeks notice when they invite you for oath.
I have successfully landed few days ago in Montreal (application from June 2018, urgent stream, but not so urgent ..). The ceremony was well organised, the judge was amazing. There were about 300 people taking the oath. What was interesting that the ceremony was really multicultural, though in the same time, no real prevalence of certain nationalities was observed. I have a feeling that when inviting the people they also make sure that they have enough reps from different cultures. Don't take my word on that though.
Congrats! Adds a whole new dimension to this oath invite mystery. Was thinking the speed of the application might be decided by years of education or employment history. But country of origin uniformly distributed??? - what else? Make sure the height and weight of everyone is evenly distributed to make everyone is not too tall or too skinny! Crazy!

Thanks. Again, that was just my observation. But the reason it crossed my mind was that I don't really see that of a diversity on the streets, so what are the odds of seeing that in a room with 300 people (the judge said they had people from 61 different countries)
