What about dependant kids?
Do you have to take them with you as adult applicant?
What documents for kids to be brought in?
they are not allowed in testing area :-X
But we need to take their passports along with us, right?
I had thought I would have to take them with me.
Just confused with this process.
Thanks Keesio
I read your detailed responses. Appreciate it
Keesio, after applying for the citizenship I will be going out of the country with my family but my husband will be back in 3 months and start working on a contractual job. As I and kids will be out of the country during the test, should I get the kids back to Canada? After the oath my husband will be working in India but I will be going out of Canada to expand our business. Just wondering which option is better.
Would appreciate any response on this subject.

I am asked to bring:
-the letter
-2 pieces of ID that has my photo and signature
-all original documents that was need for my original application
-My original copy of COPR
-PR Card
-All passports and travel documentation I have (old and new)
-Photocopies of all passports and travel documentation
Seira,
I'm not sure what is best. But I can say that CIC does not like it when people apply for citizenship and then leave for a long time. Be prepared to explain why you and your family left for a long time after applying during the interview. Your application may also be delayed with an RQ (Residency Questionnaire).

Ok. How about sending the application, and then staying only for couple of months out of Canada, coming back without the kids (they will be with the grant parents), and then working full time here. That is applying around March and going out of Canada in March returning back during May end and working here (kids won't be here).
Hello all just came back from Cic office Mississauga with a invitation for oath on dec 16.
Test was very easy but have to read the book and online questions.
Interview was very pleasant just asking about work and out of canada visits.
Good luck to all
Hi all,
Here are my timelines:
Applied - Jan 14 2013.
Citizenship test - Dec 4 2013. (passed; results were announced right after the test)
Waiting for Oath.
Does anyone have a similar timeline or any idea when I can expect the invitation to take oath? Thanks!

I suppose that would be better. If, by the time you have the interview, you having been working full-time in Canada for a few months, that would look good.

Good... can I ask you if your ecas status (online) has changed? Mine still shows that I was asked to take test on Dec 4th which I did. It does not show any update on the oath timeline. So I'm trying to deduce if the online status changes to something like 'invitation to take oath has been sent on <date>' or such.
No updates yet its too early i just did the test this morning

Have you received the oath invitation letter?
