Hi All,
Today marks exactly 1 year since my application for Citizenship. Still waiting for my test invite.

Called the Helpline - That sent a request to Visa Office & said I should receive a response in 30 days.

My Timeline is below -
Application Received - Feb 4
In Process - May 10
FP - August 20

Criminality - Passed
Prohibition - Not Started
Residency - Not Started
Language - Not Started

My Location - Brampton
Visa Office - Mississauga.

Any update ?
Im afraid ours takes longer . I still don't understand the procedure are we forgotten or what.. Why the delay for some of us is longer than many of others.


I will mark 1 year in two weeks my application is still in process and criminality is on progress till now

Hi, my citizenship application was received by Mississauga office on 1st Feb 2018. After delaying a move to Seattle USA to receive my Canadian passport I have now given up on the wait since it’s already past a year. What I want to know that when I do receive the confirmation for document verification and oath can I change that to Vancouver location? Can I do anything prior to ensure I can carry out the rest of Process in Vancouver? I do not want then to change the application processing office to Vancouver as that would delay the process further

Moving your application to Vancouver will definitely delay the process no matter which stage you chose to do it. Seniors would be able to comment better I guess. It's tricky cause on one it may cause a further delay, on the other hand, you will have to pay hundreds of dollars in flight costs if you chose to fly from Seattle to Mississauga.

Not necessarily... Vancouver office seems to move much faster than Mississauga office from what's shared by forum members in related threads...

Yeah but at this stage, moving offices would delay the application. Doesn't matter which office you change to. But my information is limited so you might be right.

Urgent processing declined
Processing 20 March 2018
Test invite date 2019/02/07
Test date 2019/02/20
Let just keep waiting if my advice.I am not on the time sheet because it would have made it longer.

It seems they started inviting March applicants for the test and February applicants stopped or being skipped

You can check status online. Agent will not be able to give any further info about progress.
Call 1-888-242-2100
On the first list of options, press 4 (citizenship)
Then press 0 to talk with agent.

Took test yesterday at Scarborough office today my status changed to DECISION MADE. They told us that they don't have timeline for us at when oath will be.
