No account details will show beside your name and the EXP file number. Even after you receive the AOR, you will not be able to access the application that you have submitted.
Also you are correct that you will have one entry / file number whether you are a family or a single person.
You will never receive an EXP number. You will only see it under your GCKey account. However when you get your AOR (within 90 Canadian working days from the date you sent your application) it will be identical to the EXP however it will be EP and your file under under the GCKey will get updated.

That's the thing though. There's no number under my name. It just says my name that's it. Does that mean they haven't received my application or there's something wrong or missing from it?

When you log in to GCKey and reach your account page, scroll down to visa you submitted applications or profile. You should find a line where there is an application EXP number, Permanent residency type and then your name (probably in capital letters).

There is nothing there. Just my name. I've reported it to the report technical difficulty dept. Let's wait and see. I think there is a problem of uploading the number from their end. Hopefully my issue will be resolved soon. It's very worrisome. Thank you for helping me out. You were great! +1

Hi,
I got an update online account that it hot changed from XEP - EP. However I m still waiting for the AOR email. I need this email to apply for BOWP.
Please advise. It been more than 2 weeks I m waiting for the email so that I can proceed further.
I can't link my app to my CIC account by using the information provided in this thread (both before/after AOR).
I managed to link after getting AOR by using Application Number + UCI + Passport Information + Family Number of 2 (I applied with my wife and 1 did not work)

That method can be applied before the AOR and UCI. But based on what I known, right now, the number of applicants should be input the real value, not only 1.
Please help!
I called cic and the man i spoke to gave me a file no starting with letters XEP. Then, I used that number to link my account on gckey but it always failed. Please its been 4 months now since MIKE received my application but still no AOR. Kindly enlighten me. Thanks
