They will respond to you if you ask them if there is anything pending from your side, or if there are any further documents they need you to send. Generally, if you simply ask them what is going on with your case they may ignore it. All the best.

There is no such limitation. You can send the query by yourself and the CHC would reply to you according to the urgency of the query.

I always get reply in 3-4 days max.... I have even got reply in 24 hrs
in the mail subject line should be like this (Name) D O B January DD, YYYY - File No: BXXX XXX XXXX (URGENT) by mentioning URGENT means your query needs urgent attention

Soby is exactly right. The subject should make them curious enough to want to open the email and read it. Also, in the body of the letter it helps to ask them if there are any further documents they require from you rather than asking them about the PPR directly. An indirect approach is usually appreciated. Since you have sent them about 2-3 emails now, I'd suggest you wait for another 10-15 days before you send another. All the best!
