You should send the passport within the given time or it will be delayed. You must have also seen the deadline for your visa in the email. They don't extend that either. Ask your spouse to send you the passport ASAP and once you get passport back with immigration visa, let him resign. I know it's hsrd to get passport from an employer in the middle east as they hold employees passport. Congrats
I applied for Quebec skilled worker at the end of May 2011 and the CIC status only shows application received/medical results received. Nothing else for almost 15 months now..

I am an in-Canada applicant and I received a letter that requested for me to pay the right of permanent residency fee, send photos and passport. So I am assuming this is the PPR. I have sent everything a few days ago.
The letter stated that if you are a citizen of a country that does not require a visitor's visa to enter Canada then send a copy of your valid passport. I do not need to obtain a visitor's visa so I photocopied my entire passport book and sent it. I did not send the original.
I am a little confused with this passport request:
Question -
What does immigration Canada do with the passport - is it for verification or for stamping?
If it's for stamping then I would assume that they would need the original??

Based from what I saw in a lot of time line, passport request usually takes one upto two months after "in process" in ecas. No worries - unless they suddenly asked for additional requirements. It has been more than a month already for you & they haven't asked for additional requirement, so it should be anytime soon. Give it another 3 weeks or so

thanks lakambini...a sparkle of hope suddenly came to me... it's just so frustrating to see others receive their PPR earlier... but thanks so much for encouraging me to make my patience a bit longer..
