Same here-no updates! Planning to call them next week, once it is exactly 1 month since the last update.

Just saw someone posted in another forum that their application was approved for 2 weeks and haven't received an email due to high volume at CIC. The person got the confirmation while they called CIC

Having a job or not shouldn't cause any issues because most of the people coming here doesn't have a job. But that would mean that they might ask you for Proof of Funds, which they generally don't care about that much if you are already here and working.

But lets say if I go for option 1 - ( do landing and then leave for few months) , I will have the freedom to stay in India for as long as I wish. And for some reason if I dont get my PR card through my friend, can I apply for PR Travel document?

The only reason I want to finish landing formalities now is that I will not have to go through that all once I am back from my trip after few months.

Please advise if you can.

I'm new in this forum and need some help from seniors. I submitted my application under CEC with provincial nomination. Here is my timelines.

Application date. April 25th
AOR-April 25th
MED PASSED - July (Don't remember date)
UCI showed - July (Don't remember date)
RCMP request letter - August 1st
Letter submitted- August 8th

Since letter submission, I didn't get any update in my account. I live with my wife and we are expecting our baby in first week of October. so my question is if we don't get further updates (additional documents request or passport request) before baby due date.

How can I inform to CIC about baby? or Should I?
Would my baby be a Canadian citizen by birth or not?

Hi kim,

It's completely up to you. You can definitely do the landing and apply for PR travel document ( if you don't get the PR card before your travel back ) if that is the way you want to go.

First of Congrats on the baby.

Baby will automatically be a Canadian citizen provided you are here legally ( WP , SP etc ).

You will definitely have to let CIC know about the change in your family, raise a CSE with details i believe ( not exactly sure about the process - there were similar cases in the past with your same situation, try finding it in the forum ).
