There has been an unusual pause in CEC applications; some haven't even passed meds yet.
Emailing won't do you much good as your app hasn't passed 6 months yet (You probably misread on the website, it's 6 months not 6 weeks), but you can definitely give them a call and ask:
So I guess , I have enough time to go before I see any update.. My AOR is 31st May and I see people who submitted after 08th of May or so hasn't seen any updates since. But this only for CEC applicants though. Not exactly sure why , does anyone has any clue.
I have been struck in IP1 for almost 2 months now!! Is there a call in number to CIC that I can call and ask about the status and reason for holding or should I send an email? The FAQ showed that if the delay is 6 weeks above the Processing times specified in the CIC website then we should call and I wasnt sure if its a good idea to call given thats what is written there. Please advice.
I'm AOR May 23th and my background check changed to IP1 on July 1st but my medical has not changed yet.
I was informed that my case is currently being processed at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Does that indicate anything regarding the progress?
Hi, even my status has been the same. BG is NA since 5th July. I have paid RPRF upfront. Waiting for the status to change. AOR- May 26th. MP - 1st July
Hi, Gurik is correct, it will only show the initial payment of 550 made. I did mine similar to yours, paid the 550 1st and waited for them to request the 490. Once they did, I paid it immediately and it did not reflect (Heck, even after getting my PPR the fee does not reflect). It probably has to do with the fact that the systems used to apply for the PR and make the initial payment along with the system for paying the RPRF later do not communicate with each other.
Just an FYI, there is a fee to using the VFS office. Most of you guys are probably aware of this, but I wasn't (and there was no mention of a specific fee payable to the VFS in the ppr email).
The fee isn't too steep, around $35, but it is a bit annoying that this was not outlined in the PPR email. I sent my documents in and once it arrived at the VFS office, they contacted me via email asking me to make payment at a bank and email them a copy of the proof of payment. Delayed the whole process by an additional day, so it was a bit annoying, but nothing major.

not yet, as per vfs tracking, the status is: "Visa application, tracking ID No........ is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, PRETORIA.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit the VAC website."
Hopefully all of this is done and stamped soon, every day that goes by is harder and harder haha
