Hi.
I have a question. my mother is currently waiting for the citizenship ceremony. She applied on May 2019 from Toronto and was summoned to write a citizenship test and verify my identity/documents on December 10th,2020. but after that, we haven't received anything. even no update on the website.
I reached them via email, but the response was " it's still in process" .

it's more than 1 year we're waiting for Oath ceremony.
Do you have any idea about the processing time? or any help.

Unfortunately lot of 2019 applications who finished test before 18March2020 are still waiting. No estimate on when they will finish the oath for 2019 applicants even though its online oath for 8 months. Once, more cic workers come back to work, the files will be moving again. Dont know, possibly after Mar/Apr/May.

Sorry, my bad. I mean she did the interview on December 10th, 2019.

and one more question, her PR card is already expired.
Should I apply for a renew? or not?

There should be oath email anytime in few days/weeks/months. So if there is no urgency in traveling outside of Canada then no need.
Note that it takes 3-4 months to get the card hence you need to plan if in case of any travel this year. I am still waiting for the card (applied in Nov).

Please can you update my status as per the following?

Test invite= 19Mar2020 was canceled due to the pandemic.
New test e-vite = 13Jan2021. We had 21 days to take it. We took the test on 24Jan2021. We both passed. Now waiting for the next steps.

How was the test? Easy hard? Questions more about remembering years ? Hitory people’s names?

Lucky you. My mom applied the same time as yours, application in process since Sept 2019, but haven't even received invitation to interview. She's a senior so no test is needed. I hope they squeeze her in some time the coming months for an online interview.
