That's incorrect. Background check can be started simultaneously with other checks and is not an indication of having passed anything.

what i am saying is....passing criminality is what changes ones status to we are processing your background check. i have reviewed several notes and what i noticed on all the notes are they moved to IP2 same day they passed criminality. I am not saying anything about when BG starts or was it statred with other checks.

Hello Guys,

I am planning to move out of my residence country and back to my home nation as I've almost completed my project and will resign soon. My AOR is 21 May '18 and my application is in IP2 (processing BGC) phase. Would like to know how this will affect my application and if I will need to inform CIC about this change?

Yes you need to inform CIC so they can adjust your VO accordingly for PPR.

thanks. not sure about the exact date as i didn't receive an email, just the update on the application. so, i'd say about 10 days give or take.

Normally I'd say your PPR is very very close, however I am completing 1 month in IP2 soon .. so...

that's my main concern. since the IP2 has taken a while, i wouldn't want to push it any further. maybe hold on to that resignation a tad longer .
hopefully, you'll get your PPR update soon as well.

Just spoke to immigration agent. He said that my file is in Ottawa for processing. Background and Criminal check not yet started. Eligibility is recommended pass. What does that does mean. Have I passed the eligibility check?

My AOR was 23rd May. Medical passed on 29th of May no update since then. Still in IP1.

hi, my AOR also on 23rd MAY, medical on 2nd june, still my background check has not been started, ,any idea what to do, should i call to CIC or order GCMS notes. plz advice.

My timeline is close to yours. AOR may 8th medicals passed may 18th. BGC in progress aug 23rd (IP2)
