Hello Everyone.

yesterday i called CIC because i have not receive a letter from them to ask my police certificate from back home, they told me they send me that letter one moth ago but i do no see that letter in my account, they say they will open a case about this matter. how long does it take to get an answer from them? i am really worried please help

Hi Everyone.

I have applied through consultancy so i am not getting my status update clearly

Below are my timelines

ITA - 14th March
AOR - 24th May
Medical Passed - 6th June

From then to now, i was told by the consultant that it only shows medical passed status. They got back to me on 20th August saying i had to fill the form for additional family request, which was uploaded by them on 21st August.

on 22nd August, managed to get in touch with of an agent over call after 30 minutes waiting, she informed the following things

- Medicals Passed
- Eligibility Passed
- Background check completed
- Additional family information received
- My file is in Ottawa
- Security check has not started

It would be really helpful if some can help me with the below queries i have

- what stage am i in (ip 1 or ip 2)
- Usually in what circumstances is additional family information requested
- general processing time for files in Ottawa VO
- How long does a security check take and how close am i to getting the golden mail
- What they do in security check? i have no overseas travel history

please note that i am a single applicant from India

18 May 2018 1st ADR (Imm5475 + IELTS for dependent "as we did TEF coz we are French speakers)
22 May 2018 MP and IP1
25 May 2018 2nd ADR (WES certificate for Principal Applicant + RPRF invitation to pay it)
25 July 2018 3rd ADR (written proofs that we'll not move to Québec " as we are French speakers and principal applicant has a French PhD")
25 May 2018 IP2 with (we are reviewing the additional documents you provided) in ADR
Since this date no changes.
Stream : FSW Outland
NOC : 0114
Dependents 2
Country : Algeria.

Also, I tried calling the toll free number via Hangouts a couple of times over a couple of days, but wasn't able to get through to a human agent. Is this regular? The ones who have gotten through, how many times did you have to try before you got through?

I noticed calling 5 minutes before their offices open or as soon as they open works.
I called before at 11am and didnt get through, called at 8am and got through in 20 minutes.

Medical passed on 25th of May.
1 of June RPRF, paid on 2nd of June.
No additional docs required yet.
