Hello Members and prospective Canadians ;),

I completed my B.E (Computer Engineering) from Mumbai University in 2006. Final year passed with Distinction but unfortunately completed in 5 years :(
Then went to UK to pursue Masters (MSc) in Management Information Systems (MIS) which I completed in Oct 2007.

From January 2008 onwards till date I am working in Qatar (Middle East) as an IT Support Engineer.
Now I wish to pursue Masters once again in Canada.

I am 32, married and have a daughter. Finance is not an issue, I am self financing my study...

Planning to take Internetworking Masters course which is directly related to my work, in University of Alberta or Dalhousie for Sep 2017 Intake.

What are my chances of getting a study permit??? ::).

Please share your opinions......

Your application will undergo buttloads of scrutiny but as long as you're able to justify the reason for pursuing this master's degree and how it fills gaps left by or complements your previous master's, it should be alright.

Since you're an expat in your current country of residence, you already have weakened ties to your home country and I would suggest you don't fall into the honey trap of applying for a study permit along with your wife and kids.

Apply on your own and have them join you a few months later
