Hello All,
I received my COPR. I am planning to do a short 1 week landing in Canada in October, give my friend's address for PR card and return. I am planning to get married in November, by that time the PR card may not be ready. Will it affect me to sponsor my wife in future ? Is the process of landing considered start of Permanent Residency or should I wait till I get PR card for that ?
No, it will not affect you to sponsor your wife in the future.

As long as you haven't lived with your fiance for 12 months, then it will be fine.

Why dont you marry before landing and add her to your application? Its less painful

Hey.. I have a question. Is it fine to go there for just a week and come back? And do we need travel document to be issued?. I am kinda in same situation. Getting married in Feb and will go there in Dec/Jan for a week and apply for PR card and come back

As far as I know it's gonna be fine. You become PR when you land and not when you get the card in hand, so there should be no problems
