Hi Everyone,

We received an ITA in the last round for EE. I had a question regarding marriage certificate proof. Me and my husband got married in the US and have a marriage certificate for the same. After few months we had a traditional wedding in India but we do not have a marriage certificate for the Indian wedding . We are currently living in India and are confused if we can submit our US marriage certificate as a proof for our marriage.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Submit the US marriage certificate if it's truly a certificate from the county.
If the Indian wedding is more like a religious ceremony so that doesn't count. Moreover you can't marry again without getting divorced, they would request you a divorce certificate if you mention your marriage in India.
Just stick with one document.

I understand the US marriage was the civil one and the one in India was religious. Religious marriages are not recognised legally so you have to use your US marriage certificate.
