In Canada, married or commonlaw has the same level so dont worry at all.

i wonder did u provide IMM5409 bcs its consider as marriage certificate for common law

We submitted a notarized copy of the declaration for a common-law union. You don't have to submit this anymore with the new application but the old one, you did need it. We submitted it with the new application because we already had it.

My aplication received by end of Oct 2016 and submitted all evidence of our relationship including marriage certificate but a month before i got landing interview, IRCC requested me again proof of relation.. and just for your information i saw a notice if i were in common law i need to submit IMM5409

I think under the new application it is no longer required, however, we submitted it anyways and got it done twice as we planned to apply earlier but it took us longer to fill out forms and gather necessary information, so we got another one. $50 each time!

Are u kidding me.. $50 each time? Thats expensive for 1 form but your huge effort will be paid off.. :)

Best wishes for you

Oh yeah ... notaries are not cheap! We also paid $50 per page to get my partner's translations done with a certified court translator for a total of $200. On top of that there was the cost of the application and fees and the nearly $500 we spent on consultations with the immigration consultant, and $300 previously with an immigration lawyer and the countless number of trips we took to see each other for the last 4 years, we became numb to the amount of money we had to spend to maintain our relationship. All worth it, though, regardless of the outcome of this process!

Best of luck to you too on completing this process and starting your life with your spouse!
