But then how will you comeback to Canada then cause they make you cut PR card into 4 pieces.

I guess in that case you will apply for passport with the Canadian Embassy of that country.

Based on the following information, you need to be in Canada to take the Oath

"
You need to be in Canada to take the Oath of Citizenship. If you get your invitation while you’re outside Canada, reply to the invitation email to explain your situation in detail.

In your email

• put “Outside Canada – Oath of Citizenship” in the subject line
• In the body of your message, include
  • your full name
  • your application number
  • a detailed explanation of your situation

We’ll contact you with your next steps after we receive your email.

You cannot take the Oath of Citizenship outside Canada, you need to be physically in Canada

do we need Active PR card at the time of Oat or the expired one also works. based on current timeline seems like our PR card will be expired before the oath

Based of the following information, you need to show the PR card at the ceremony even it's expired:

"
What to bring
When you come to the ceremony, bring:

• your ceremony notice
• a signed copy of the Permission Release and Consent form (included with the notice)
• permanent resident card if you have one (even if it’s expired) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688)
• Record of Landing (IMM 1000) if you became a permanent resident before June 28, 2002
• 2 pieces of personal identification (ID)
  • one piece of ID must have your photograph and signature, for example: driver’s licence, health card or permanent resident card
  • foreign ID documents must be government-issued, Canadian ones don’t need to be government-issued
  • if they’re not in English or French, you must provide a translation with an affidavit from the translator
  • minors are not required to show identification with a signature
• all your passports and travel documents, current and expired, that you listed on the application form
• optional: a holy book, of your choice, if you want to use one to swear the Oath of Citizenship

nope you cannot take oath outside canada. Secondly passport only has to be applied from within canada

Since you won't be leaving canada anytime sooner (assumption). I think it will be fine as anyway it was going to be destroyed. But I am pretty sure you'll find the answer to this question somewhere in one of the threads!!

Same with me BG completed October 28, and nothing since then.

Background check completed on the 1st nov . No update after that

I actually cant say for sure. My test is still pending after i passed the test on Nov 2, 2022.

Hi @kingfaisal , when did your test status changed to In progress?
I have completed the test but the status still remains as not started. Thanks
