I just checked the application status link and it says they have filed my application on April 23rd with an additional note saying "We have received your application and have begun to process your application. Information about next steps and required action items will be coming soon." The page last updated on April 26th. Does it mean it is in Progress?

The spreadsheet was built on status in ECAS not the new tracker, it takes around 2 to 3 months to change from Application received to In Process, I have noticed that in the new tracker background completed is kind of the equivalent to the In Process in ECAS.

Guys I’ve put up a web form with urgent grant of citizenship. IRCC responded that they’re carefully looking into the information. Does/Would this mean my urgent grant for citizenship is accepted?
if its accepted, what would the next steps look like
I submitted online application on March 22 2021, no AOR so far. 1100 days of residency since 2017.

CIC doesnt confirm on urgent request acceptance rather they would send you test/interview/document request sooner than other applicants.
Not sure if they can search and update your application as urgent since your application is not yet in the system. So wait till AOR and then submit another urgent request.

Here's the flow on Urgent Processing request.
You submit the webform, within 7 days the contact center forwards your urgent request to processing office, processing office agent acknowledges the request and sends to supervisor for approval, supervisor rejects/approves within 2-3 days.
So of you call CIC about 10-12 days from day you submitted urgent processing request, the contact center agent will see the information and can confirm if your request was approved or denied.

Well in my case and some others I think in the January or February thread have shared that the application changed to In Process in ECAS one day and a couple of days later the new tracker was showing up with an update and background completed, every application is different.

Yes, in some cases (I am told that in cases where name is not common) BG is completed within few days after application is In Process.
So, background completed is not equivalent to In Process in ECAS. It will always be after In Process. In some cases it will be within a week, in other cases after long time.
