So You've got very surprised after their email . The agents might have provided you wrong information in your previous calls unless you had ordered GCMS note which is accurate.

Montreal doesn’t even update their gcms regularly

I applied on September 6th, and received them on October 29th. After the 40th day I started emailing them daily asking for an update: ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca and IRCC.ATIP-AIPRP.IRCC@cic.gc.ca with the subject
"ATIP Response - it is been XX days of request"

Same happened to me. I kept trying till I got a nice officer who told me "what he could"
