Welcome everybody! Wishing good luck to all of us. : )
My app should arrive at CIC Mississauga tomorrow, but I just realized we submitted the new (Feb 2012 version) of the Application to Sponsor (IMM 1344), but the old version of the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Put a damper on my feelings of relief. I'll call CIC when they're open tomorrow to ask if they will still accept the old version of IMM 0008, or if I have to re-send... : (
I am a Feb applicant but when did the new forms become available on the website? I did our paperwork a couple of months ago and they were new forms compared to when I did them the first time. So I retyped everything. But if something was new in February then I definitely missed it.
They are accepting old forms till March 31st and the new forms have been around since July 2011, so chances are you used the new ones, we had the same worry but turned out the were new forms

Whew!! Thanks for the info. Dumb me didn't make a copy of our packet. I should have at least taken photos with my iPhone! I am already unsure I signed everything. I am so paranoid.
I'm just about ready to send mine away.. so I anticipate I'll officially be a March applicant by the middle of the month =D
Good luck, everyone!! Wishing you all smooth sailing. The hard part is over!
We just sent out ours yesterday whoo hoo! And I've been tracking it haha

My husband and I sent in our application March 6th to CPC-Mississauga. A little about us. Married Sept 21, 2011. He's American living here with me since Sept 11, 2011. We met online through World of Warcraft. We just sent in our FBI (again) on March 6 due to our other one coming back with wrong information. His FBI came back with a conviction, yet he didn't get convicted of anything so Iowa had to fax the FBI the updated record. Hopefully this one will come back clean. Med's done last October (we were going to apply earlier than March but couldn't because of the FBI check). We just sent in our extension of visitor record on March 6th as well. We're hoping it will get approved but we are worried since we drove through the border and he had his U.S. passport card, not the regular passport (it came in the mail to us later). We didn't get a visitors record the 1st time he came through the border, we just got waved through with no documentation (standard for U.S. citizens coming to Canada.) So..just waiting now. Hopefully things will work out.

that's crazy his first FBI came out wrong!! good luck!
My husband and I met in March 2005 after 7 years we have filed for his permanent residency. I live in montreal and he is american. He has been living with me since January 9th,2012.We were married on December 31st 2011. I am crossing my fingers that this process will go as smoothly as possible I am so happy that I hired the help of Attorney David Cohen, his office has been a blessing in more ways than one! We applied outland, his visitors visa expires on July 8th, i am nervous they won't renew it!!! Has anybody looked at obtaining a work permit even with an outland application....It's hard on one salary!!!
Good Luck to everyone

Hi everyone! I just sent in my application today (after many weeks of preparation!) My husband is Canadian and I am Bermudian. We are so looking forward to this, I hope and pray all goes well.
Good luck to each of you.

We sent our application on March 8th, it was received in Mississauga on March 15th.
I had no idea all this waiting would drive me crazy! And it's only been 6 days since they got it! LOL
Anybody else get any news?? I believe a lot of January applicants still have yet to receive their sponsorphip approval|
Application to sponsor my husband sent to Mississauga yesterday. Just so happy to have it out of our hands and on it's way!!

Our application is finally out this week ! Seems like we were gathering evidence and paperwork for months, now to sit tight and wait for "in progress" ! just excited to everything out the door !
A bit about us - My Finance have been together two years on April 26th ! We met in Canada, long after his vistors permit had expired, we were awaiting my divorce (3 years and counting) to finalize before doing the sponsorship app. Unfortunately immigration caught up with us first and he was taken from our home in the wee hours of the morning, a very scary expereince to say the least ! He was sent back to Mexico after being released on bail for 16 hours to say good bye. We contacted a lawyer and found out we were elegible for common law sponsorship so here we go ! We are hoping for the best !
