I checked the CIC site today and finally it showed the status that my application was received on March 8 2012.

Hopefully, I should hear about the approval soon.

Most probably u ll get the approval e mail tomorrow .. that happened to me.

I've not received anything as yet, and judging by the comments until I do the site wont tell me anything, I'd just like to know where it is and how to find it for future reference Only thing I have at the moment is the Receipt number. Hi! Thanks! The embassy emailed my Husband about his suitability to sponsor... no snail mail yet.. maybe soon... but for now we are just excited about it and starting to think for PPR soon...

I cannot see anything using online status check. However, when I called the toll free number (you need client ID for that), they said they received my application on March 12, even one day earlier than I thought :

Let's hope next week (or even this one!) is going to be our week; ones that applied after March 9!

the ecas is on the cic website, here is the direct link https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en
Indeed - until you receive either an AOR or directly sponsor approval, you won't be able to use it, as the "receipt number" on the payment form doesn't work until your file is opened.
It's mostly useful for the second part of the application as you can follow some progress there - but ecas is not really accurate most of the times, but it's always good to see that something is happening...

Well we sent the form back yesterday and I just tracked it and it apparently arrived already! For once CP doesn't fail! (For me personally) So now I'm hoping to hear something within the next few days

the site is showing 'working on applications received on feb 15' then people getting approvals who submitted applications on march 9,...strange...

question 25. Have you visited your sponsor during the period of your relationship? we answered NO because he wasn't able to come and visit me here in canada since he needs a visa to get here..so my concern is what is the best explanation to it that would not question us back about it..thank you

My question would be why could you not visit him ? I would think you would need a valid reason for both of you not being able to travel to see eachother, just my two cents
