We will (2 people) be landing in Toronto first week of November. Looking for an apartment. One or two bedroom apartment in the price range of $800 - 1100 per month. How do we go about getting an apartment for rent if we don't have references or employment? We can pay one month advance deposit if necessary.
Not sure how to answer your original question because when I rented, I already had a job in hand. But just in case apartment rental doesn't work for you for some reason or you start thinking about renting a basement, let me know. I'm a home owner in GTA and have a finished and furnished basement in my house. It's currently occupied by a newcomer immigrant family till the end of October, so should be available from first week of November. Please feel free to get in touch via PM if this is something that interests you. Also check www.kijiji.ca for rentals.
Hello you will need some kind of reference and documentation in order to rent unless you hire a realtor that will negotiate that for you.
I;m a realtor and I can help you with that you can choose any realtor you like by going to realtor.ca.
You can also check my site alrivas. com.

You don't need a realtor to rent an apartment.
