I came to Canada in April 2011 with a Working Holiday Visa and have been employed with my company since August 2011. In the beginning of November, I contacted the HR manager of the company to apply for a LMO and I gave her all the information she needed. She says that she applied for the LMO but "hasn't had the time yet" to follow up. She said she didn't receive any answer (so no file number). Can I call someone to find out if my application is in process oder can only my employer do that? I don't know when exactly she submitted the application because when I asked if she knows the date she submitted the application for the LMO, she said no.
Is there anything I can do at the moment? My Working Holiday Visa expires on April 9, 2012, so if I don't get an answer soon, I have to change my status to a visitor, but then I can't work anymore.
Franzi,
as far as i Know, just the person who is on the form can call to ask for the file number, even if she doesnt have the exact date, maybe the week in which was sent it could help. Try to make the call so she can ask.

Franzi
the number you can call is 1(866) 556-5518
option 1 for English
option 5 for Temporary Foreign worker
option 2 for Status of LMO
That is the number and the path for the options (so doesn't take you so long waiting to listen all the menu)... but remember that they will give information just to the person on the form, so maybe you can dial and when you have ready the call, put on the phone the person,, good luck.. and no I do not have news from my work permit yet, still waiting , but hopefully this week something come up .
