My current work permit is expired.
And I'm currently waiting for a Lmia work permit with my employer.
If approved can I flag pole,like do a border run,orI have to leave the country and fly back to activate it.

Did you change your status to visitor before your work permit expired? Generally you can only flagpole if you have legal status in Canada.

Ive applied for bridging visa so I can stay until a decision is made on that but can't work. I'm expecting Lmia to come through in the next few weeks. Just wondering what the best way to activate the work permit would be..

I don't know in that case - that's a bit messy. You've basically applied to extend your work permit when you know you don't qualify for an extension. That can make CBSA unhappy. Would have been a better idea to have applied to change your status to visitor. Guess you can try flagpoling and see what happens.
