Hi, I was hoping someone could help because after hours searching the CIC website I'm just confused.

I would love to apply for permanent residency but am unsure if I am elegable.

I'm currently on my second year working holiday visa from the UK. I work as a live out nanny and have worked for them for 14 months now (and will until my permit expires).

After searching I don't think I'm elligable under the experience class as it's not in the correct skill section.

Is there any other way I can apply.

additional info. I have post secondary education a foundation degree in early childhood and my employer if willing to give me a written job offer.

Or is there any way to apply for longer work permit, the best I can find is one that requires a LMO which means they would have to rpove they couldn't fill my position localy which I doubt would turn out in my favour as I'm sure there are local nannies.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You are right that a live-out nanny is not a skilled position and you would not be able to apply for your immigration under experience class.

They may be able to get an LMO for you and a new work permit if they have no other applicants for the job but a low skilled work permit will not help you immigrate.

You have 2 ways to immigrate. 1. Find another job that is skilled, work there for the duration of your work permit and as you do not have enough time any more to get 1 year skilled experience on your working holiday visa, you would need an LMO to get a regular work permit to fill up that 1 year so you can apply for PR under experience class. OR 2. Get a work permit as a live-in caregiver, work for 2 years and then apply for your PR under the live-in caregiver class. Processing takes almost forever but you would be given an open work permit after you do your 2 years and apply for PR. As a live-in, you would of course have to live-in.
