Hi! Welcome... Renewed OWP on his hand almost 3 months after he applied. He first renewed his passport (after his Phil vacay) expecting to be returned within 2 months but sad to say his passport was delayed and received after 3 months so it was only 2 months validity left with his OWP when he renewed. It expired last January and for 2 weeks without the new one he was on an "implied status."
By the way, on his new OWP is a remark that he has applied for PR and in process and the date he applied if im not mistaken.

Would you happen to know the web link? What i came across on the CIC website is "extend your stay as a visitor".

Please advise: My TRV expires before my OWP. If i apply for TRV first, will i be given based on the date of my OWP. If that's the case, then do I first apply for extension of OWP(expires in september), before renewing TRV?
I found the answer to my question about the TRV, from the cic website:
If you are in Canada and need to extend your Work Permit and renew your Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), submit a separate application for the new TRV to the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa only after CIC has approved the extension of your Work Permit.
