I have recently been granted approval for PR and will land this year along with wife and child. We will then return to home country shortly to continue making plans. If after attaining PR we choose to have a second child and the birth takes place outside canada, what are the prospects of a speedy approval of family sponsorship. Our application for FSW took less than 5 months. How long do family sponsorship normally take.
Thanks for any advice.
The OP is not a Canadian citizen, they applied for PR through the FSW program.
As a PR, you must be in Canada to sponsor. So you would need to apply for a TRV for your child (if a visa is required). If that is refused, then one of you would need to move back to Canada and apply to sponsor from there, while the other waits in your home country with your child.
Without knowing your home country, it's impossible to give you an accurate answer. Anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.
