landing tomorrow, needs some help on PR card application

Hi, we are landing tomorrow in Toronto (currently we live in the US). I was trying to fill up the application for a PR card. I am assuming the address history, residency obligation needs to be filled in only after some one becomes a permanent. So there wouldn't be any history at all.

Since we would be returning to the USA in less than a week, is it worthwhile to apply for a PR card? As the form as a consent for disclosing information from border security, as they will anyway know we left after landing? Could someone suggest?

The PR application is for renewals only. You shouldn't be filling one out if you are landing for the first time.
