Recently, my husband, a doctor, received his COPR with a destination of Ottawa through spousal sponsorship. We had planned to relocate to Ottawa because he had secured a training program at a hospital in the province. However, upon receiving his visa, we were informed that he had not been accepted into the program and that there might be available positions at one of the hospitals in Montreal. Unfortunately, we still lack concrete confirmation from either party.
We are planning on moving in 2 months. Given these circumstances, I’d like to know the best approach to landing in Montreal without a CSQ and explain the situation to the immigration officer. If we receive a job confirmation from the institution in Montreal, would it be best to change the port of entry on the COPR? Is that possible?
if not would he be able to get medical without a CSQ?
would love to here from people who had the same situation!
