need advice about landing in Quebec

Hello!
We finally have our VOH! Strangely most of the tickets that we are looking at have a layover in Montreal. Did anyone successfully land in Montreal without a csq? (as we are not planning on staying and will catch a connecting flight right away).
Please advise as we have heard vaguely that some people had difficulties landing in Montreal but nothing specific and I can’t find any official advice against it.

You may enter Quebec with out a CSQ. But you must provide proof you have the intent of residing else where in the country. So a ticket to your connecting flight to another city/province or your future address to your apartment/house may be sufficient. Although, from experience the immigration officer only really cares about your landing papers (Confirmation of Permanent Residence).
