Landing on weekend through Pacific highway crossing

Hi, my wife is US citizen who has been visiting me in Canada over the past year. We got her COPR in mail this week and want to go to border crossing at Pacific Highway in Surrey into Blaine, WA tomorrow to land. Would we drive into US and then u turn when we can to return back into Canada or is there some other way for a US citizen to Flag Pole. I've seen a few threads about flag poling but they seem to be about non US citizens. Do we tell the border guy we want to land in Canada or what?

But yes, you just tell them you want to turn around and land as PR in Canada.
