Hello everyone!
My situation:
I'm the main applicant, my spouse is a Canadian citizen by birth and our two sons are by descent. Both our children have had their proof of citizenship issued along with their passports. Thus, they had not been included in the application as dependents because they are Canadian citizens. I'm the only one being sponsored.
All of us are (and have been) living outside Canada so the application was done and submitted as out-land. I recently received my COPR.
Question:
When I land in Canada for the first time, do I need to be accompanied by my spouse (and children) or can I land alone and have no problems with immigration?
Why: we still have some open business in the country we are currently living but I am obliged to land in Canada prior to the expiration of the COPR. After landing, I want to return back to close all open matters and then move to Canada with my family.
Traveling is very expensive but most importantly I do not want to impose a 10 hour flight on my children (toddler and a baby) if it is not mandatory, especially when we plan to stay there the minimum required before we return to close our open matters before our permanent relocation to Canada.
So, can I land alone without my sponsor and children?
Looking forward to your inputs!
Thanks, Nermus
