Hi Folks,

I recently received the Ready for Visa email and got the passports stamped along with COPR forms for both myself and my wife.
I am planning to go to the US-Canada border at Rainbow bridge in Niagara falls tomorrow for landing regarding which i had a question.

I have seen few posts in which people described walking over the rainbow bridge and getting the refusal form and getting back to Canada for fulfilling the landing formalities.

But i wanted to know if someone had experienced this by going in a car?

Can we actually do this in a car: Leave Canada and reach the gates on US side and get refused for the entry and then head back towards Canada and do the formalities.

Any piece of advice on this would be useful.

Thanks friends for all your help.

Best,
Hanul

Hi Hanul,

Yes, of course you can go by car. That was the way I did. When you get at the US border, inform the officer that you want to flag pole to immigrate to Canada. The officer asked me to turn left and park my car in a spot he showed me. He instructed me to wait for other officer with the administrative refusal. That day wasn't busy at all and I got the document after a couple of minutes. Then this other officer opened a gate and instructed me to go through it to come back to Canada. After crossing the gate there is a toll gate where you have to pay CAN 4.50 so bring some changes. After that it is the Canadian border. Again, once the officer asks you why you want to enter Canada, just let him/her know that you are landing. Give him/her your passport, CoPR and US administrative Refusal document. He/she will ask you to turn left, park your car, and go inside the office for landing formalities. When I got there there was no one in front of me, and it took about 15 minutes. The officer may ask you for a proof of address. I gave my driver license and that worked.

Good luck and have a happy landing!

Hi Luciano,
Thanks for the advice. It was really helpful. Completed the landing a week ago and now waiting for the PR card.
Have a god one.

Best,
Hanul
