Hi! I have a question. I tried to look around in the forum but the search feature isn't the greatest...
Once my husband lands, if I were to drive straight to a Service Canada office would he be able to get a SIN number right away? He's anxious for applying for jobs and he has.. but it's awkward because "legally" he's not entitled to even though we know COPR is coming. >_<
Our plan is for him to move by September. But I think he just wants to make a trip down here for a little, help me move into our new place, get his SIN then go back and wrap all his stuff and start throwing our resumes before coming back. So I'm curious.

Yes. Service Canada will hand out the SIN on the spot.
There's also no barrier to him sending out resumés now. The only illegality is if he is hired before officially landing and receiving his SIN; he can still interview and even receive job offers (conditional on landing) before then.

My wife got her SIN number literally 5 minutes after she landed. She landed at Pearson Airport terminal 1 and after she did her landing the officer said "Welcome to Canada, you can go over to that booth to apply for a SIN number" and low and behold there was a Service Canada booth across the room. 5 minutes later she had a SIN number and that was it.
btw - when I came to Canada long ago, I had already accepted a job offer (I had a job before I came) and started my first day at work without a SIN number. HR told me to go get one when I have time and update them when I get it.
Hi guys I just have one question cause don't really have idea what's going to happen. Like lets say I granted SA and if I'm right the next thing after the PPR is to land right? Can I exit Canada go back to my home country took the chance and have a 2 weeks vacation with my sponsor my common law husband and then go back and land as a PR? Please need advice thanks.

From other comments, the parent poster there appears to be an inland applicant. In such cases, travelling is more risky because refusal of re-entry will void the application.
