I seem to be doing something wrong or don't understand the modus operandi of this thread. Please accept my apologies.
Can someone put me through so I can have my questions answered. I stumbled on this forum while trying to gather information about landing in Canada. My husband and my own passport was stamped with visa may 2014 but we haven't done our landing yet. We will be landing with our baby(he was born in the US) so his passport wasn't stamped.
I need answers to questions on things like whether it's better to rent a basement or an apartment. Also would appreciate if I can connect with anyone working in the banking sector , (I work with a bank in Nigeria)who can put me through how to whether the terrain and make myself employable in Toronto ......let me stop here for now.

Hello, all the answers you need are in this very thread, just begin to read backwards and tap from the experiences of those that have landed before you. There are over 200 pages of this thread filled with vital info concerning job hunting, accomodation in various parts of Canada, even issues you have not yet thought of. So patiently start reading backwards and be better prepared. If you see any particular story that you need further info on, you can contact the writer by PM or ask the general house specific issues and wait for a response. All the best to you and your family.

Thank you for the response sir. I have read through most of the pages and I actually learnt a lot. I had made payment to start a course in January when I land but having read through the thread, I realised I should take advantage of the immigrant classes, so I will be deffering my admission.
My specific questions are
Is a basement better than apartments in terms of cost and convenience? I learnt apartments will charge a year lease....
Are there free or subsidised daycare centres and am I entitled to it
All glory to God, we landed yesterday at YYZ. There was a long queue at Immigration, but everything went smoothly. We got our SIN , bags were not checked neither where we asked for POF. It snowed all the way to our lodging.
