Laid off while mother supervisa app on the process

Hi everyone! I got laid off from work while my mother's supervisa application is on the process (medical now). I would like to apply for EI but afraid it might affect her application. If I apply for EI , would the visa officer know it?

No, the systems are not connected. If you got laid off after the application is submitted, I don't think you're doing anything wrong here.
