Please advice me what to do. i and my wife landed in Toronto last Year Oct and we were fortunate enough that we got Jobs in our Respective fields . After 2.5 Months my Company Laid me off saying that they are downsizing Team. i couldn't complete my 650 Hrs required for EI Benefit. I could only complete 370 Hrs during that Time. Just wanted to know what options i have.Can i claim EI Benefit?
There are special rules for people in their first job that actually make it harder to qualify rather than easier.
You can try getting a part-time job and once you have enough hours claim a partial EI benefit.
