I applied for AINP's Strategic Recruitment Stream (SRS) - compulsory trade based on AIT invitation letter. This category does not require sponsoring employer. However, I still need to maintain my legal status in Alberta.
I got laid off recently and I am having hard time getting an employer to apply for an LMO. My current work permit expires in December and I am concerned I may not have a job offer or work permit by then.
Two questions:
1. Can I extend my stay as a visitor (in case I cannot find a job and a work permit)?
2. In that case, can I apply to Vegreville for the change of status? or do I have to leave and re-enter at the POE?
