I got a L 8,R 8.5, W6.5, S7.5 last time, my CRS score is now 483, which is pretty dangerous
I tried to change the scores of W as 7.0 in the CRS tools and I get a 503!
Already booked a test June 25
hopefully I can push my EE scores up to 500 this time
I'm in the same boat buddy.
I got L-8, R-9,W-6.5, S-7.5 . MY CRS stands as 405 now. If I score W as 7.0 my CRS becomes 450 :O
I'm trying to book a new date but no dates are available till mid July. It's ridiculous how much just 0.5 marks can do in such language exams. It's like everything doesn't matter from your profile but only language. lol.
how come you get a 50+ bounse by that 0.5?
I am still confused how it is calculated
My handwriting sucks so paper based writing give a huge disadvantage
The language test can affect the scores in Skill Transferability factors, which can be up to 100 points. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp
If you live in Canada or plan to travel to Canada, you can take CELPIP test, which is also recognized by CIC and is COMPUTER based.

Nothing new. It's also not because the writing skill is more importance than the others. CLB is calculated based on your lowest score of IELTS which is your Writing, and in your previous test, your writing is CLB 7 (6.0) when you got 7.0 last time. You jump from clb 7 to clb 9.

my hand writing is horrible, it has no impact on ur score as long as its legible......0.5 more to 7 will increase skill transferbility to 100 from 50 and 11 more on ielts writing from 23 to 34 made it to 475.
after my IELTS 1st attempt, to have Australia as a backup plan I gave PTE and i came to know that i got very good scores on PTE but my spellings were horrible(lost marks due to spellings) as per PTE report.
so, when i gave my IELTS 2nd attempt i initially attempted essay followed by letter(its good as it saves time) then after both essay and letter i checked for spellings, trust me i corrected 6 spellings and felt great after rectifying spellings........lastly make sure u dont use idioms or phrases because i wrote a phrase in my 1st attempt letter writing part.
They asked my to explain in a letter to news editor y my neighbour was the best, after all the explanation i wrote....."treat ur neighbour as thyself".
It ruined my score and i got 6.5.
Hope this helps, PM me if u need help.............+1 if it helps.
Go for revaluation (your money will be refunded once u get that .5) instead of retaking (time consuming) IELTS for .5 difference. I personally did the same & got that .5 . Seen many people succeed this way in getting .5 in W & L.

Someone I know went for a reassessment hoping I gain the .5 in writing. The mark remained unchanged. Cost approx $150. There is no refund unless the mark increases, but it is probably worth trying.
