Niagara Office -- I applied in June 2024, and everything showed as completed except for the ceremony scheduled since Sept 28, 2028. However, the status shows that the ceremony has not started. Why is it taking so long to receive the oath invitation letter? Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Thank you.

Current average time is 7 months.
You're halfway there only.
No real point contacting IRCC yet or doing anything beside waiting.
do they consider 7 months or 12 months?. 7 months is what it is taking on average at this moment and it can vary. But 12 months is what they consider normal? . Beyond that it is considered for inquiry

Current for Citizenship is 6 months as of 04-OCT-2024:
How are processing times calculated?
Most of our processing times are historical. This means we base them on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past.
Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision on it.
Forward-looking processing times New
On May 1, 2024, some types of applications switched to forward-looking (expected) processing times. This means we calculate them using

  • the total number of that application type we have to process
  • the amount we expect to process every month
The application types showing forward-looking processing times are
  • Canadian experience class (Express Entry)
  • Provincial Nominees Program (Express Entry and non-Express Entry)
  • federal skilled workers (Express Entry)
  • Quebec skilled workers
  • spouse or common law partner (living inside or outside Canada)
  • parents or grandparents
  • citizenship grants
  • citizenship certificate (proof of citizenship)

My PP is still in progress. I called ircc yesterday and the agent confirmed that residency is completed and they're waiting to schedule for oath, looks like there aren't any availabilities. I thought they'll schedule for online oath if they don't find an in person date.

Maybe there's a delay in tracker or PP was completed yesterday and I'll see the update on Tuesday. Currently PP is in progress and oath is not started.
