Because the portal system is relatively new, unreliable, and extremely unfair. Its infrastructure is horseshite; there's no FIFO, no accountability, and no structure or pattern on how they go through applications.
I and countless others had to deal with the headache and stress brought by this same portal when it was first rolled out for the virtual landing and COPR issuance for Express Entry (and also the TR to PR stream), and in the words of Mark Holthe, I would "not touch it with a 10 foot pole" now if I don't have to. It's the main reason my wife and I went paper-based with our spousal sponsorship application and I would recommend everyone to avoid the online route at all costs.
Hi Guys, Just wondering who receives the AOR. The sponsor or the applicant?
I am sponsoring my wife and i received an email confirming my application to sponsor has been received. Is the the AOR we’d submit for the work permit application?
We just received our pre-arrival services letter. I thought that typically came later in the process, after SA and PA (haven't received that yet as far as I'm aware). Not sure what this means in terms of implications for the timeline?

AOR: still waiting...
Now trying to apply for an extention on my ETA but not able to find the link on my GCKEY account after I log in. Will be 6 months in Canada as of the 8th of September.
Anyone with any ideas?
Just received a letter stating it is incomplete as it does not have signatures on a form that is validated.
Should I just print everything out and do a paper application instead? This way I can apply for a work permit with the application instead of waiting for an AOR.
Not sure what the smartest thing is atm. Do I get my fees back or can I 'reuse' my receipt for the next application?
We are just wasting money from our savings now not working so would like to apply asap.
Thanks for the help.

Hey, that's really unfortunate to hear. So i'm assuming you had initially applied online, and it was returned as incomplete due to missing signature. How you resubmit that document again with the missing signature will depend on how far along in the process you were. Whether the application was completely returned before AOR, or if it was accepted for processing, issued an application number, and then marked as incomplete. if you have the provision to just attach and upload the required form again, i would suggest to stick to the same instead of reapplying from scratch.

Hi, no was pre AOR. They are sending everything back for some reason, very annoying. Just wondering if it would be faster to do a paper application ( including the work permit application). Some people seem to have faster responses with that.
