My husband and I just got the test invitation today!

I finally got my citizenship test invite today. Aor in June and BGC cleared Nov 24th. Finally some movement!

I got the invite as well. I am out of country and can’t return during the test window. Should I let them know and does it affect my application further ?

Looks like it’s fine to take it outside, just let them know. Doesn’t look like it affects your application further.

is anyone on this forum waiting for oath from the surrey, bc office? My DM has been made since December 1st but since then radio silence... i understand xmas and new years but this is pretty odd to wait for 2 months when others are hearing back soon. I emailed the office and they said 1-3 months wait from DM date, but I am not sure if that was just an automated email.. i have seen others get the oath invite within a month of DM even in busy cities like Toronto. Also, I actually live in Vancouver, and I am not sure why the surrey office got my file.

Based on official note - oath is scheduled within 4-6 months from your test complete for routine applications. With Vancouver office, I can see that oath invitations are scattered from 10 days to 8 months since DM stage, it is really random.

My DM has been made so I presume its routine app. Idk, i have an emergency need to travel and have talked to ircc, but honestly parents health is not enough of an emergency for them. they look at me and go, "well you have a passport and pr card. you can travel!" the point they miss though is that it complicates things for me if my oath came in feb for instance and I need to re-schedule

I do not think anyone from this forum can provide any firm answer when things will work for you, but hope you can get your oath scheduled smoothly.

Testing window is 2023-01-27 to 2023-02-16...

How long after the oath is the status updated to completed/closed approximately ?
My oath was completed on the 17th and I’ve yet to see any update. Wondering if this is normal and also when I can expect my certificate?

You should get the citizenship certificate in about 2 weeks.

Looks like a French email id, so possibly Montreal. What I am confused about is why Montreal, when we live in GTA.
