Same, my IRCC profile still shows in progress / submitted. I got to know that my app was approved when I received my GCMS notes. I got the PR confirmation portal email just last week, a little over a month after my application was approved.

Should I wait until IRCC request the renewed one or I should renew it now as it may jeopardize my application. Travel is not easy and it will require Two weeks Quarantine one here and another in my home country. appreciate your support and advice.

why you need to travel to your home country to renew the passport?, you can do it in your country of residence through embassy, like we all do.

It is not very clear from your post
Is your spouse a PR? or already residing in Canada as temporary resident i.e. work permit, study permit or visitor record?

if later is the case, then temporary resident status also expires with expired travel document i.e. passport. You certainly need the new passport to restore the status if your spouse had temporary resident status..

Not sure why would you have to travel to renew your spouse's passport. You can renew the passport in the country of residence you are in.

This is inadmissible for the embassy to do, unable to issue a passport. Question arises how will she board a flight with an expired passport? Not sure although if you get a letter from your embassy that your country cannot issue the passport in a foreign territory and that letter can be used for travel. Or perhaps ask for an emergency travel document for the travel.

I really dnt know how they process all the stages. My security is stuck on process since November 22nd (as per confirmed with an agent)
And still waiting . Everything else was passed before that.

Security can take a few weeks to months, even a year. Depends mostly on applicant’s travel history, country of origin etc.

I have the same feeling. I called one month after my last call, which I think is a reasonable wait period to ask for update. Will call again one month after my last call.

No, I called them on last Friday before I hit submit for the extension of BOWP. No updates yet..

If you are relying on what your portal says it's not accurate. The only way for an accurate progress check, agent over the phone or web form.
