Usually it does not take that long. Max 2-3 weeks.
Before landing, you are not PR yet, so technically you are still on your WP and you don't want to lose your status. So, when your current permit expires? I think you need to have a valid permit for the landing.
don't worry about the BOWP application fee. You can get reimbursed. Processing of BOWP itself takes 2-3 months (by then you are most probably landed) so, even if you apply for BOWP, you can withdraw it after landing. They will reimburse you, if they haven't touched your file.
Edit: Check my timeline for example

ADR July 11 - Police Certificate from Home Country

Eligibility RR from August - June, because my job description was on another document
Meds Extended - June 17 2019
PPR June 17 about 30 mins later
If your current WP expires soon, you have to withdraw it after you did landing (when you are a PR). This is to make sure you don't lose the status. But, if you are 100% sure that you can land before the expiry of your current WP, you can withdraw it. If you give me more details on when your current WP expires, I may be able to help you.
Yes, the give me the full refund, without any hassle or problem. So, BOWP is processed on a FIFO base. You have to wait till your turn and the officer picks your file (usually takes 2-3 months from application) and finalize it. If before your turn, you withdraw it, then the officer confirms it and initiates your refund. Then it takes 2-3 weeks to get the refund
Dude now wats d use to order CBSA notes even? Wat difference wud it make..already it seems like an unending wait...rr docs are sent..only god can help me...I keep wondering why doesn't he listen...
I just called CIC and they said for BWOP, they are currently processing the applications submitted at March 2nd. Mine is 12 May and they said I may still need to wait couple of months. Is it true?????? Anyone know?? Couple of months really? The processing time shows only 7 weeks.

Got it. My PGWP expires June 23 but I have already applied for extension so I am on implied status right now. Might have to miss an upcoming holiday since I cant leave Canada yet.
Just got confirmation that my PPR documents arrived in Ottawa already so I think i Should be ok. Gonna schedule my landing interview ASAP and get my money back, thanks for your help.
